Frequently asked questions
Answers about AI writing, story context, pricing and generation tasks.
Updated
Can AI write a finished book for me?
InStory can help create outlines and chapter drafts, including staged full-book generation. You remain responsible for reviewing plot, style, factual claims and third-party material. A completed generation task is not a publication guarantee.
Does long-text support include the whole book in every request?
No. Generation uses context appropriate to the stage and model, with relevant project records and compression where needed. Keep key facts current and compare generated scenes with source chapters; summaries can miss details.
What is the difference between user and project memory?
User memory describes writing preferences and recurring requirements. Project memory keeps decisions, reminders and constraints for a particular story. These records help provide context, but they do not guarantee that every detail will be recalled correctly.
Why might the checkout price differ from a reference price?
Pricing varies by supported market and currency. Language is a display preference, not a billing-market choice. Review the current public pricing page and the final subscription checkout amount before purchasing.
What should I do if a generation task fails?
Check the task status and any saved results before starting again. Full-book tasks have outline and chapter stages with range-level retry support. Reuse completed work where possible and inspect error details; repeated retries can use additional AI allowance.
